Nursing Care Functions:
- Attend to skin tears, rashes, pressure areas, and changes in skin condition.
- Perform wound assessment, reassessment, and management for all residents.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and dermal systems.
- Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to residents with acute and chronic wounds.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of staging system of wounds.
- Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown of residents.
- Knowledgeable of surgical procedures and postoperative course of residents undergoing bowel surgery.
- Abilitiy to adequately assess and reassess pain.
Minimum of two years experience in a medical or surgical, rehabilitation nursing setting.
LPN/RN license required.
